Biography - Jorge Vera:

Born 1958 in Lima, Peru to Don Enrique Vera Carcovich and Jenny Du Bois Gervassi.

Studied ceramics, sculpture and etching, 1976-1978 at the Institute for the Arts in Lima. Studied history of art, creative writing, film, animation, video production/editing, studio photography and B/W photography, 1983-1987 at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Studied western philosophy, logic, history of art and art critique, alternative photography, etching, alternative printing and silk screening, 1989-1992 at Meramec College in St. Louis, Missouri.

Held studio residency at Art Center South Florida, Miami Beach, Florida from 1996 to 2002. Fellowship recipient of the year 2002 Masters of Fine Arts in photography program at the University of Florida, Gainesville.

Multiple solo and group exhibits held at commercial gallery venues and museums throughout the US. Jorge's work is in various private art collections in the United States, Latin America, and Europe.
