EMERGENCY/TENSION  April 26 – May 26 2003   Opening reception Saturday, April 26th

Gallery I: Emergency is a selection of paintings by French artist Dominique Figarella. Figarella uses unconventional materials in his work to preserve abstract painting’s content, aesthetics and format while abandoning traditional means.  

Gallery II: Tension is videos and still photographs by Croatian artist Renata Poljak. Poljak’s work draws deeply on references to the disintegration of her native Yugoslavia, which she intertwines with feminist concerns.
