The reciprocative action is repeated in a continuous seamless loop. Each segment is mirrored upon the last to emphasize the reflexive quality of the action. Bubble Gum explores the shared experience and the ambivalence of an intimate friendship. Although a common adolescent activity, it becomes odd as two adult women partake in it. This breaching of adult etiquette is not played in a carefree or competitive way; the character activity remains automatic.
