Alberto Rizzo was born in Rome in 1931. After moving to California in 1960 and then to New York City in 1969 Rizzo began his critical relationship with Harper's Bazaar. During this time, he worked closely with world renowned Art Director, Bea Feitler. As a result of this collaboration, Rizzo began working extensively with the world's most important fashion publications. He has worked at length with Harper's Bazaar, Newsweek, L'Uomo Vogue, Vogue America, Vogue France, Italia, Madamoiselle, Playboy, Donna, Domus, and many others. Alberto Rizzo has also participated in major commercial campaigns with Bulgari, Revlon, Chanel, Seiko, Clinique, Danskin, Max Factor, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdales.
Alberto Rizzo prides himself on his artistic endeavors, many of which have helped to shape his photographic career. He has collaborated on projects for the Guggenheim and for the Venice Biennale. Projects with the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum are currently in the making. His work has been shown in exhibitions since 1984, predominately in New York and Italy. He is the recipient of several awards from the Art Directory Club of America throughout the late 1960's and early 1970's, and in 1972 he received the coveted Cory Award for his work.
